Morningstar Farms and BzzAgent!

Two of our resolutions at the beginning of this year were to eat healthier and save money. BzzAgent has given me a new way to do both!
BzzAgent.com is a website that gives its members opportunities to try new products, tell their friends what they think, and influence manufacturers, all for free! I have been a member for years and have been able to share so many new products with my friends and family.
One of my current "BzzCampaigns" is for Morningstar Farms Veggie Burgers. I was given a coupon for a free Morningstar product and had a little trouble finding them in my local stores, so I decided to use it on the frozen breakfast sausage rather than let it go to waste.

We are quite a sausage-loving family. One of our favorite things to do with breakfast sausage is make burritos. We simply make eggs and sausage, then add cheese and salsa, and roll it all up in a tortilla. It's a pretty basic breakfast but there's just something about having it in burrito form that seems a little special. We really enjoyed the Morningstar Farms Veggie Sausage patties on their own, but because we bought the maple flavor and didn't notice until afterwards, they didn't go so well in the breakfast burritos. These patties are just a little different in texture than pork sausage, but the flavor is great.

We definitely won't be giving up meat anytime soon, but every now and then these will make a healthier alternative. I've been keeping my eye out in the stores because I still really want to try the Veggie Burgers as well! Check out Morningstar Farms on facebook for recipes, coupons and more!

As a member of BzzAgent.com, I was given a product to test at no cost to me in exchange for sharing my opinion.

Easter, and a few other things, but mostly Easter

I think I kind of picked a bad week to start a blog. I had all kinds of post ideas when I began, but then a few things  popped up and stole my weekend away. Friday morning, just as we were beginning our two days of leisure, Mike got called to Nashville for work. And Sunday, I had to attend the funeral of a great uncle. My routine was temporarily off-track, but yesterday morning I got an email from World Market that put me right back into Running the Show mode.
Every year, right after Valentine's Day, I start gearing up for Easter. I'm not Irish or an alcoholic so St. Patrick's Day is barely a blip on our radar. Easter is my very most favorite holiday. I think it became so when I was a kid mostly because it meant my birthday was near. Every year, my mother used to make this cake with colored-green coconut for "grass" and jellybeans for "eggs" that was really nothing special underneath but I always thought that Easter cake was the most delicious thing I'd ever had.  As an adult I love the decorating most of all. Who can resist bunnies and chicks in pastels? I went a little crazy yesterday stocking up on items to create my Easter tablescape, but I should probably mention here that right now I don't even have a dining table. It's on order, though, I swear! I was assured it would be delivered before Good Friday!

My most-coveted Easter treats throughout the rest of the year are Milka Eggs. Have you had these? They come in a cute little egg carton with coordinating mini plastic spoons and are filled with this mousse-y, creamy vanilla STUFF that's probably made of plastic and cancer but tastes like heaven.

I've had to go years at a time before without having these, because they're not exactly easy to find, so when I can, I buy way more than any one person ever should. I'll be working them off all April! Do you have a favorite Easter treat? Or is there another holiday altogether that you spend the whole year waiting for?

We're going to Disney World!

.... and, no, not because we just won the Super Bowl.

on Jax's bedroom door

Our house is in full Disney prep mode even though we're not leaving for over two months. I've been in all my former-travel-agent glory planning detailed itineraries for every day of our vacation. Thankfully, my family has let me have free reign of this because they know I just want to squeeze it all in for maximum enjoyment. Scheduling days that will make everyone happy can be tough with kids so far apart in age! Mike and I haven't been to Disney World since we were children, and the last time Ccelsie went was with her Dad's side of the family. We are all ALMOST just as excited as Jax is!

Jax has been begging us to take him to TheWaltDisneyWorldResortInOrlandoFlorida... that's how he says it, every time, for at least a year now. He's watched every youtube video and studied every park map, and can recite entire shows he's never seen in person. I think he'll want to grow up to be a travel writer or a tour guide!

I know I'll have lots more to post between now and our departure date, but for the time being, do you have any tips for a child's first Disney World visit? I'd love to hear them!
